In sales, it’s easy to focus on products.
Features.
Pricing.
Programs.
Promotions.
But over the years, I’ve learned something important:
People rarely remember everything you said.
They remember how you made them feel.
Running has taught me a similar lesson.
I can’t remember every training run I’ve completed.
But I remember the people who encouraged me.
The people who showed up.
The people who believed in me when I doubted myself.
Business works the same way.
Customers may forget the presentation.
They may forget the quote.
They may even forget the meeting.
But they remember:
* Who returned their call.
* Who followed through.
* Who took the time to listen.
* Who treated them like a person instead of a transaction.
That’s why I’ve always believed that communication and relationships matter.
Not because they’re a sales strategy.
Because they’re a people strategy.
The best opportunities in my career haven’t come from having all the answers.
They’ve come from building trust.
One conversation at a time.
One relationship at a time.
One interaction at a time.
Whether you’re leading a team, raising a family, serving customers, or building a business, people may not remember every word you say.
But they’ll remember how you showed up.
And over time, that’s what leaves a lasting impression.
