Normally on Mondays I share a Monday Miles & Leadership post.
This week, I was a little quiet… and for good reason.
For the past several months, I’ve been working on something that’s challenged me creatively and personally. Today, I’m excited to finally share it.
🎵 Built for the Long Run: Songs for the Road Ahead
It’s a five-song concept album inspired by running—but it’s really about leadership, perseverance, resilience, and becoming the person you’re capable of being.
Each song represents a different stage of the journey:
🏃 One More Mile – Choosing discipline over excuses.
🧠 The Voice in My Head – Overcoming self-doubt and limiting beliefs.
🔥 Pain Has a Purpose – Learning that growth is often found in discomfort.
🧭 Built for the Long Run – Embracing consistency over quick wins.
🌉 Across the River – Inspired by the Detroit Free Press Marathon, this song brings the journey full circle and reminds us that the greatest finish lines aren’t measured by medals—they’re measured by who we’ve become.
This album is deeply personal. Running has taught me lessons that extend far beyond the road. The same principles that carry us through marathon training—discipline, consistency, resilience, communication, and relationships—also shape how we lead at work, serve our communities, and show up for our families.
I never set out to make an album. I simply wanted to share the lessons that have changed my life in a different way.
If you have a few minutes, I’d be honored if you’d give it a listen. You’ll find the link to the full album in the first comment below. I’d love to hear which song resonates with you the most and why.
Because in the end…
The finish line was never the goal. Becoming was.
