A lesson from running.
One of my favorite things about running is that the scenery changes.
One mile you’re running through a quiet neighborhood.
The next you’re crossing a bridge.
Then you’re climbing a hill you wish wasn’t there.
Eventually, you reach a view you couldn’t have seen from where you started.
Careers work the same way.
Sometimes we’re so focused on the next promotion, the next goal, or the next opportunity that we forget to appreciate the view from where we are today.
Every season teaches something.
Every role prepares you for the next one.
Every challenge gives you a perspective you didn’t have before.
If you skip appreciating today’s view, you’ll probably skip appreciating tomorrow’s too.
Because there will always be another hill.
Another finish line.
Another opportunity.
Running has reminded me that the journey isn’t just about reaching the next mile marker.
It’s about noticing how much the landscape has changed since the first mile.
Leadership is no different.
Sometimes growth isn’t measured by how far you’ve gone.
It’s measured by how differently you see the road ahead.
The higher you climb, the farther you can see.
But don’t forget to enjoy the view along the way.
