For the past five days, my wife has been out of town for a work conference.
That meant a different routine around our house.
School drop-offs.
Practices.
Meals.
Bedtime.
Schedules.
A little more juggling.
A little less downtime.
And honestly — that’s part of being on a team.
Sometimes in life, one person has a season where they need to lean harder into something:
– Work travel
– Family obligations
– Big projects
– Personal growth opportunities
When that happens, somebody else has to cover the gap.
Running teaches the same thing.
In longer races, there are moments where your legs feel strong…
and moments where they don’t.
You adjust.
You compensate.
You keep moving forward.
Leadership works the same way.
Strong teams aren’t built because every person carries the exact same load every day.
They’re built because people are willing to step up for each other when needed.
In business.
At home.
In marriage.
Sometimes leadership looks less like directing…
And more like quietly carrying more for a season.
Not keeping score.
Not demanding recognition.
Just understanding that when one person grows, sacrifices, or pushes forward — the whole team benefits.
That’s how trust is built.
And trust is what keeps the team moving for the long run.
